Top 10 NFL Draft

The 2007 NFL Draft had a lot of predicitions that were right, and few twists as always. No one thought that Brady Quinn would drop to the 22nd pick, but he still got to go to his favorite team as a kid. ESPN didn’t like the fact the Miami Dolphins passed on him, and took Ted Gin Jr. from Ohio State. I think Gin is a better player than Quinn, and the Dolphins got the better player. I’m not about drafting for needs. Give me the best player on the board, and we will work out the needs later.

I even tried to warn the Oakland Raiders about Calvin Johnson. They didn’t get Calvin, and that will haunt them. The Detroit Lions was the lucky winner of the Calvin Johnson Sweepstakes. I will go ahead and say it now. The Detroit Lions will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this year! It’s not a bold prediction. Since I live 40 miles north of Atlanta, I have had the opportunity to see a lot of Georgia Tech Games. This Calvin Johnson guy is the best athlete I have ever seen. The NFL and the Raiders will see this too very soon. So if you are a Detroit Lions Fan, you can start getting excited. It’s not just about the Thanksgiving Games anymore, you guys are going to the Super Bowl!

Here’s the Top 10 in the 1st Round:

1) JaMarcus Russell Oakland Raiders

2) Calvin Johnson Detroit Lions

3) Joe Thomas Cleveland Browns

4) Gaines Adams Tampa Bay Buccaneers

5) Levi Brown Arizona Cardinals

6) LaRon Landry Washington Redskins

7) Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings

8) Jamaal Anderson Atlanta Falcons

9) Ted Ginn Jr. Miami Dolphins

10) Amobi Okoye Houston Texans

According to ESPN, this was the longest 1st Round ever. The first round last year was 4 hours and something. The 2007 Draft this year, went a shade over 6 hours. So they will be drafting late tonight for the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
